Qualified from Middlesex Hospital Medical School, now part of University College London Hospital Medical School, London in 1978.
All his medical training was in London with higher surgical training in ENT being completed at University College London Hospital. His consultant appointment was secured in 1989.
He delivers across the ENT specialty but in particular, nasal and ear pathologies, including sinofacial pain and paediatric disorders. He also has a special interest in Snoring and Obstructive Sleep Apnoea.
He has a Honorary Professorship at Middlesex University, London, for his extansive work on Medical Education particularly the development and delivery of several nationally accredited training programmes to develop GPs with Special Interests. He is also Medical Director, Rila Institute of Health Sciences, London, an organisation with a focus on postgraduate medical education. He is Programme leader for the ENT UK accredited national training programme and the Certification in the Management of the Altered Airway (Tracheostomy & Laryngectomy).
Formerly, Department of Health Advisor for Obstructive Sleep Apnoea. Has redesigned, for two CCGs, the delivery of “Snoring and Obstructive Apnoea services”, to be delivered exclusively in the community
He is the editor of a primary care journal, Clinical Focus: Primary Care and on the editorial board of the ENT UK CPD journal, “The Otorhinolaryngologist”.
